Chopin International Piano Competition, Hartford, CT

  I would like to encourage all piano students and their professors to take part in the VI Chopin International Piano Competition in Hartford, CT. The event, presented exclusively by Connecticut Chopin Foundation, will be held at Greater Hartford Arts Academy in Hartford, CT from 10 to 13 March 2016. There will be also a master class of internationally acclaimed concert pianist and professor-   Dr. Krystian Tkaczewski on March 9 and on March 13.        

   In the past editions of Chopin  competition took part pianists representing 18  countries and five continents. Our laureates consist of  previous prize winners  of such competitions as: Busoni, Sendai,  Bachauer and Horowitz.        

 The  judges of  Chopin competition have represented such countries as:  Poland, Austria, Brazil, France, Germany, Greece, Hungary, Indonesia, Italy, Japan, Poland, Russia, Taiwan and USA. They were all experienced adjudicators, previously invited by such competitions as: Bachauer, Bonn, Cliburn, Helsinki, Isang Yun, Jaen, Kapell, Osaka, Rubinstein, San Jose, Vienna,  among others.          

The Chopin Competition in Hartford received various recognitions and awards from state and federal government  officers as: US representative John Larson, Mayor Pedro Segarra and Governor Dannel Malloy.  The Fox News hailed Chopin International Piano Competition in Hartford as "the most important musical event of the opening of the year  in the State of Connecticut." The Chopin International Competition in Hartford is the most important piano competition in the State of Connecticut  and the most important Chopinesque international event in State of Connecticut  and an entire New England.
